After Medellin I took the bus to coffee country and the town of Salento. There I toured a coffee farm and got to participate in the entire process from plant to cup.
I then headed to the Salsa capital of the world, Cali. I took a lesson at my hostel and then tested out what I had learned at a Salsa bar that had a live band.
The next day I headed down to Popayan for the afternoon and got to experience the beautiful colonial city before I got on the night bus to the Columbia border. I crossed into Ecuador at 6am and before I knew it I was in a new country.
On the road from the border to Quito I stopped in Otavalo and one of South America's biggest open air markets where the indigenous people sell handicrafts.
I then continued on to Quito where I met up with my parents at their hotel in old town before our early morning flight to the Galapagos Islands.
